Is Massage Therapy recommended for me?

We specialize in providing fast, effective care when you need it most. Here’s how we work with clients to uncover what they need to find relief and reach recovery: 

Interview

Your RMT will provide a comprehensive intake and interview to fully understand the reason for your appointment, and your medical history. 

Assessment

Based on your interview, your RMT will make an educated, clinical assessment of what’s causing your pain and discomfort.  

Treatment Plan

Following assessment and massage, your RMT will discuss a treatment plan and the expected results. Your treatment plan may also include details for returning to hobbies and physical activities.

Before Your Appointment

If there are any specific preparations required for your appointment, you will be advised prior to your appointment day. 

Your First Appointment

In your first appointment, your RMT will do a comprehensive intake and ask you about your medical history related to the reason of your appointment. After better assessing you and your condition, your RMT will discuss your treatment plan and expected results. As needed, your treatment will also include a gradual plan to return to hobbies and physical activities.

Subsequent Appointments

Your RMT may follow up with you after your appointment, if needed. If you have any questions or concerns about your appointment or your condition, call us. 

You are always invited to provide feedback about the services and our clinics. We take feedback seriously, and we implement comprehensive quality improvements plans to better serve you, every day.

After Your Appointment

Your RMT will continue to evaluate your condition and how you are feeling in every session. You should expect a portion of your visit to be used to review your treatment plan. Techniques utilized during your appointment will be chosen according to clinical findings and condition progress.

At the end of the session, you will be asked to book a follow-up appointment. You can also book a follow-up appointment online, or by calling one of our locations.

Do I need a referral to book Registered Massage Therapy appointment?

No, a referral is not required to book a massage therapy appointment.

I am not sure if Registered Massage Therapy is right for me. How will I know?

Talk to us! We’re here to help, and we’ll answer any questions you have about your unique injury or condition, or our services. Call or email us. If you already have an appointment booked, your RMT will be able to assess if the massage therapy treatment is adequate for your condition and/or injury during your appointment.

Is Massage Therapy covered by my extended health plan?

Clients should refer to their specific Extended Medical Plan coverage for details on services and coverage available. If you do not have coverage, or have run out of benefits, learn more about Intern Massage Therapy.

How can I book a Registered Massage Therapy?

At Legacies Health Centre, appointments may be booked by phone (604-591-5569), online or in-person. Visit our contact page to call the most convenient location for you. You may also call our main number 604-591-5569 and choose the most convenient location from the directory.

Is it safe to come to in-person Massage Therapy appointments?

The Health and Safety of our clients and staff is our number one priority. We’ve developed and implemented a comprehensive Covid-19 safety plan to ensure our clinics are safe for clients and staff. Please refer to our Communicable Disease Prevention Plan for more information.  

While booking (in-person, phone or online), we’ll ask if you are experiencing any Covid-19 related symptoms. We’ll repeat this assessment 24 hours prior to your appointment, and at your appointment time. 

If you have booked an appointment but are experiencing Covid-19 related symptoms, call us to cancel your appointment. Then, seek help from a physician, or call 8-1-1.

Is my appointment directly billed to my Extended Health Plans?

If you have coverage, Legacies Health Centre directly bills most Extended Health Plans Take a look at our list of direct billing insurers to see if we direct bill to yours, or call us at 604-591-5569 to confirm.

If your plan is not in our list of direct billing providers, Legacies provides a medical receipt to be used on request for reimbursement.
