Our ‘soon-to-be’ massage therapists provide a great alternative to a standard massage therapy visit.
About Intern Massage Therapy Services
Legacies Nordel, Southpoint, Market Crossing and North Vancouver locations have been offering the Internship program for soon-to-be Registered Massage Therapists (RMT’s). These carefully selected future RMT’s are graduates of the rigorous 2200hour British Columbia Registered Massage Therapy Program and will be offering Relaxation Massage Treatments while they wait to take their licensing exams to become fully registered RMT’s.
Alternate to a standard massage therapy visit, the intern massage are recommended for patients that:
- have no extended health coverage
- have run out of the annual benefits
- would like a little more care between visits with usual RMT
Types of Massage:
Deep Tissue Massage
Sports Massage
Relaxation massage
Prenatal massage
Postnatal massage
Note: No physician referral is needed for Intern Massage.

Your First Appointment
In your first appointment, similar to a registered massage therapy session, your intern therapist will do a comprehensive intake and ask you about your medical history related to the reason of your appointment. After better assessing you and your condition, your therapist will discuss your treatment plan and expected results.Subsequent Appointments
Your intern therapist will continue to evaluate your condition and how you are feeling in every session. You should expect a portion of your visit to be used to review your treatment plan. At the end of the session, you will be reminded to book your follow-up appointments, when needed. You may do that with your clinician, call one of our locations, or book online.After Your Appointment
Your intern therapist may follow up with you after your appointment, if needed. If you have any questions or concerns about your appointment or your condition, call us. You are always invite to provide feedback about the services and our clinics. Is Intern Massage covered by my extended health plan?
No, Student/Intern Massage is not eligible for redemption from extended medical plans or direct billing. If you would like coverage, book with a Registered Massage Therapist.
