Naturopathic Medicine
A combination of natural remedies and therapies that helps the body heal itself.
About Naturopathic Medicine
Naturopathic Medicine is a blend of contemporary medicine and centuries-old natural medicine to offer the best care to patients.
Naturopathic Doctors (N.D.) attend four year accredited medical schools followed by licensing board examination. Naturopathic Doctors are the only licensed medical practitioners who are clinically trained in the use of a wide variety of natural therapies, such as Clinical Nutrition, Homeopathy, Botanical Medicine, Physical Medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine , Acupuncture, Hydrotherapy, Injection Therapies, and more.
Based on the philosophy of Naturopathic Medicine NDs treat the person as a whole and not the disease or the symptoms. Therefore, naturopathic therapies are tailored to the patient and the underlying cause of the patient’s condition as well as providing symptomatic treatment. These therapies are intended to support and stimulate the patient’s innate healing processes in the gentlest, least invasive, and most complete manner. Prevention and self-responsibility for health are also emphasized. We learn this approach from the very first day of our training.
If you are not sure if Naturopathic Medicine is for you, Legacies NDs offer FREE 15-minute ‘meet and greet’ appointments to determine whether this service would be beneficial for you, and how they can provide support to your unique needs.

Before Your Appointment
If you have done any diagnostic tests (Blood work, Imaging) within the last year prior to your visit, please bring a copy of the results along with you to your appointment. If there are any other specific preparations required for your appointment, you will be advised prior to your appointment day.
During Your Appointment
First Appointment: Your first visit with our Naturopathic Doctors will be approximately 60-75 minutes long. This visit include a detailed history of your chief complaints, a review of your past medical history and any major family medical history, a focused physical examination as needed and discussing your treatment goals. This visit will be concluded by reviewing any lab works or medical records you bring with you and ordering any additional diagnostic tests that would be indicated based on your case. In some cases where hands on therapies are warranted, the treatment may start on that same visit.
Make sure that you have completed the Clinic forms including the Naturopathic Intake form and consent form in advance. Otherwise, please come at least 15 minutes early the clinic to fill them in.
Subsequent Appointments: Follow-up appointments can be scheduled in a two to three weeks intervals, depending on your case. The follow-up appointments will range approximately between 30 minutes to 60 minutes long based on the treatment plan for that session.
At that visit, your response to the treatments you received earlier and any new lab results will be discussed and your treatment plan will be updated.
At the end of the session, you will be reminded to book your follow-up appointments, when needed. You may do that with your clinician, call one of our locations, or book online.
After Your Appointment
Patients will receive specific recommendations depending on their treatments received. In case of urgent matters, patients can also communicate their concerns with their Naturopathic Doctors via email.

Workplace injuries are usually due to trauma or overuse. If you have been injured as a result of a workplace activity, our team of experts at Legacies can perform a comprehensive assessment and develop a treatment plan to reduce your symptoms and rehabilitate your injury.
If your claim is approved by WSBC, your initial assessment is 100% covered with a WorkSafeBC Claim number. Once your claim has been accepted by WorkSafeBC, the full treatment cost of your appointments will be funded (within the approved time parameters). When you are ready, your physiotherapist will work with you, your employer, physician, and WorkSafeBC Case Manager to develop a safe and appropriate return to work plan. If your claim has been denied or is disallowed, the expenses will need to be covered by the Patient
