Personal Training is offered at all Legacies locations, and may also be done through video-conferencing, from the comfort of your own home; or a combination of both.

Legacies offers Personal Training (in-person or virtual sessions) in two different ways:

Total Health Package

An ‘all-in-one’ personal training experience, with an extra touch of health! Our whole-body health approach to Personal Training set us apart from other programs out there:

  • Personal Training Sessions with a qualified and experienced Personal Trainers or Kinesiologists
  • Registered Dietitian Consult, to get tips on how to eat better
  • 60-minute Relaxation Massage Session (Intern Therapist), so you can feel good after a workout!

Before Your Appointment

If there are any specific preparations required for your appointment, you will be advised prior to your appointment day. You will also receive prior to your appointment an intake questionnaire, to assess your level of fitness and medical history, and a liability waiver and a consent form.

During Your Appointment

A personal Trainer’s main job is to create a safe and effective exercise program just for you. In your first visit, our qualified personal Trainers will get to know you better through a detailed fitness assessment. You will set realistic, yet challenging goals, and your Trainer will explain to you how to get there. Your Trainer will customize a fitness plan that is aligned to your goals, availability and commitment. Don’t expect a full workout in your first session. This session will be divided on collecting information about you, setting up goals, and getting started on a few exercises.

Throughout your subsequent sessions, you will receive step-by-step guidance on how to perform your workout, while being challenged, receiving tips and motivation. Exercises done in improper form can cause pain and injury. Because of that, your Trainer will evaluate your posture, range of motion, flexibility, proper form and movement throughout the whole session.

For any of your Personal Training sessions:

  • Wear a comfortable, well-fitting clothing
  • Wear a comfortable, non-slippery pair of shoes
  • Bring your water bottle and a hand towel
  • You may have a light, healthy snack 30-minutes prior to the session
  • Be hydrated

Change your behaviour and commit to your plan – book your sessions ahead of time, so you have consistency in the training.

At the end of the session, you will be reminded to book your next appointment, if you haven’t done it already. You may do that with your trainer or call 778-373-0222

After Your Appointment

It is expected to feel muscle soreness for a few days after your session. This feeling should disappear after a few days, and may come back after your next session. Your body is adjusting to the new efforts, and it is adapting and getting stronger.Drink lots of water, keep moving and eat healthy to assist with your recovery. Is Personal Training covered by my extended health plan?

Clients should refer to their specific Extended Medical Plan coverage for details on services and coverage available. Personal training may not be covered by your plan, but some employers have employee incentives and wellness programs that may partially cover your expenses; check-in with your employer if they have a wellness program.
