What You Can Expect from Your Kinesiology Appointment
Here’s what you can expect before, during and after your kinesiology and active rehabilitation services at our Burnaby location:
Before your appointment
If there are any specific preparations needed for your appointment, our team will let you know what you need to do before your visit. Wear comfortable exercise attire and running shoes. Don’t forget to bring a water bottle.
First and subsequent appointments
Your initial appointment will kick off with a thorough verbal assessment, where we’ll gather essential information about your accident or injury, the affected areas and how your injuries impact your daily life.
This is followed by a physical assessment, which involves evaluating the range of motion in affected muscle groups and conducting strength tests. These assessments are crucial in identifying muscle imbalances and any joint dysfunctions or limitations.
After the assessment, your therapist will craft a tailored exercise plan and provide insights and recommendations for pain management techniques, pacing strategies and injury prevention.
Subsequent visits feature resistance exercises, stretching routines and specialized movement techniques designed to target your specific injury. Sessions typically begin with a gentle warm-up, followed by one-on-one guidance from our experienced Kinesiologists, who create a personalized workout regimen to address your unique needs.
After your appointment
At the end of each session, we’ll help you schedule your follow-up appointments, ensuring continuity of care. If necessary and if it aligns with your treatment plan, your Kinesiologist will email you exercise descriptions, pictures and videos to support your recovery at home.
Legacies Health Centre is your one-stop solution for effective and convenient kinesiology services, ensuring you find comprehensive relief under one roof.
