Meet ‘Shirly’ Xiangyan Liu

Shirly’s Bio
Shirly is an experienced and skilled acupuncturist with a dual background in Western medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). She has expertise in various acupuncture techniques and proficiency in TCM diagnosis and treatment. Shirly has a Doctorate degree in Medicine from Western China University of Medical Science, China.
Shirly has 15 years of clinical/medical experience in China as a medical doctor and 9 years of experience as a Registered Chinese Medicine Practitioner in BC, Canada. She is specializing in pain management, women’s health and emotional issues. She is also a part-time instructor in the Acupuncture Program at the Vancouver Career College.
As a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine, I take a holistic approach that considers the interconnectedness of the body, mind, and spirit. My focus is on addressing the underlying imbalances rather than just treating symptoms.
I value each person’s unique circumstances and health challenges, taking the time to understand their needs, concerns, and goals. By tailoring treatments specifically to their situation, I aim to support their healing journey and encourage active participation in their own well-being.
I hold deep respect for the ancient wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine, while also incorporating modern scientific research and evidence-based practices. This integration allows me to offer effective and comprehensive treatments that combine the best of both worlds.
Utilizing modalities such as acupuncture, herbal medicine, dietary adjustments, and mind-body practices, I work towards restoring balance and promoting overall wellness within the body.
